Σκέφτηκα πολύ με τα δύο τελευταία έργα που μας ήρθαν, τα οποία είναι ουσιαστικά πολιτικής φύσεως γελοιογραφίες. Εάν δεν απτόταν της πολιτικής σκηνής, δεν θα τα δεχόμουν στο γκρουπ λόγω κανόνων (πολεμική ρητορική κλπ) αλλά πιστεύω ότι επειδή ακριβώς αντικατοπτρίζουν διάφορες πολιτικές τοποθετήσεις που υπάρχουν στην Ελλάδα και διεθνώς, συμπεριλαμβανομένου και της ιδέας που καλλιεργείται για τον εαυτό μας ως Έλληνες και άλλα, πρέπει να έχουν τη θέση τους και αυτά στο γκρουπ.

Για αυτό έφτιαξα καινούριο φάκελο, τον Political Cartoons and Comics και από εδώ και στο εξής κάθε τι που είναι πολιτική κριτική θα μπαίνει εκεί- και αυτός είναι και ο μόνος φάκελος για τον οποίο θα δέχομαι έργα με οριακό προς τους κανόνες περιεχόμενο με την προϋπόθεση ότι όλα εμπίπτουν στην πολιτική/ κοινωνική κριτική.

Τούτων δοθέντων πρέπει να πω ότι διαφωνώ κάθετα με το όλο θέμα του κλισέ του νεοέλληνα με τον φραπέ και το δικομματισμό καθότι δεν υποστηρίζεται από κοινωνικές μελέτες και είναι προπαγάνδα, αλλά η προπαγάνδα αυτή είναι μέρος του ελληνικού pop culture οπότε δεκτόν ως δείγμα!

I have been giving much thought on the issue of content with the two recent works submitted, which are basically political cartoons. If they had not been a political commentary of sorts, I wouldn't have accepted them into the group due to the group rules (polemic rhetoric against a group etc) but I believe that exactly because they reflect assorted political positionings existing in Greece and internationally, including the idea that is being cultivated as part of the Greek self image and so on, they too must have their proper position in the group.

That's why I made a new file, tagged Political Cartoons and Comics and from now on, everything that is mainly a political critique will be entered here- and this is the only file for which I will be accepting works with marginal content regarding the group rules, always provided that they all fall under sociopolitical critique.

This said I must say I completely disagree with the whole 'nouveau-greek' cliche of a frappe-brandishing politically inept oaf as it is not supported by any serious social study and is basically propaganda, but this propaganda is part of the greek pop culture so it's accepted as a specimen of exactly that!
